GeoWEPP use GIS data to delineate the watershed to be used in WEPP. GeoWEPP was developed to run using ESRI’s ArcGIS 9.0, 9.1, and 9.2. Therefore, you will need this program along with its Spatial Analyst extension. Without this extension, GeoWEPP will not run properly. You will also need to know where this program has been installed on your computer. Table of Contents : GeoWEPP Installation step by step installation instructions. Windows and Tool Descriptions, Basic Navigation Tools, the tools explanation. PRISM – Topographic Adjusted Weather Generation : starting PRISM and modifying climate parameter.GeoWEPP Tutorial : Modifying the Network and Creating the Watershed, Saving the Project, The First WEPP Simulation, WEPP on a Hillslope and Return Period Analysis, Return Period Analysis for the Entire Watershed. GeoWEPP Data Preprocessing – “What About My Data?”Linking GIS Data to WEPP Parameter Files – Creating the Text File Bridges. The Landuse Text Files, GeoWEPP Example Sets, GeoWEPP Output Reports. Return Period Analysis. “Generally, users who wish to customize a climate have knowledge of mean precipitation or temperatures for a given site. They seldom have enough information to develop values for standard deviation or skew statistics. The final method for changing the values in the table is by clicking on the PRISM button near the top right of the Climate Modification window. This will bring up a new window: the PRISM Modification window (figure 18). If you plan to use PRISM to create a specialized climate file for your first simulation, you will need to do this before accepting the watershed and running your first simulation. You can still use PRISM after the first simulation, but you will need to change the climate in the translator portion of the simulation (discussed below).
