The part is made by Bosch. Don’t buy it from BMW. They sell the same part which is labeled Bosch BMW and a BMW part number. Remove the Oil Filter Cover, BMW oil wrench tool is needed. Remove this silver unit. Remove this silver sensor and connector. Set aside for now. You can leave the connector attached, but it is easier to work with if you remove it. Disconnect black cable. Black cable removed with wrench. Now sensor can be removed. Loosen screw with allen wrench. The plug is a bit difficult to reach. Bolt and O Ring removed. Here is the cable to be inserted. Reconnect sensor with allen key. Reconnect black cable. This would be a good time to replace oil filter. To reach cable connect it is easier if you remove the cover Perhaps do this at first.
