This document is intended as a generic overview that demonstrates the necessary configurations required in displaying the Linux desktop environment with Hummingbird Exceed ® PC X software. Connecting with X Display Manager Control Protocol (XDMCP) To display the Linux desktop on a PC with Exceed X server, the user can make use of the X Display Manager Control Protocol. Configuring Exceed for XDMCP. Exceed and Windows XP If the desktop is running Windows XP, ensure the built-in Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) is disabled or add Exceed as a Service under the firewall settings.
