To create a part, you must draw the cross-section of the part or the model that you are designing and extrude the part after that. To do that, you have to create a datum plane first. Sketching plane, You have a 2D plane to draw you cross-section. Dimension the part: SKETCHER >> Dimension > Normal > Pick (line on the sketch œ left click, drag the mouse to desired area then middle click on the mouse). Be sure to dimension all the properties of the part otherwise you will be getting error later when you generating (Regenerate command) the parts. If you still getting an error message, try to check you dimension (probably lack of dimension) or your alignment. If you drawing is somewhat similar to the case 1, (i.e., where both line vertical and horizontal line is right exactly on top of the datum line) alignment command can be used. How Pro-E interpret the alignment command. From the Pro-E point of view, the box as is free to move in the vertical and horizontal axis. By setting the alignment, this will fix the position of the box from the reference axis. SKETCH >> Alignment > Same procedure as the alignment section except you align to the trajectory and not Datum plane
