
Guide for Spare Tire Carrier mounting for Jeep Wrangler, Your Husky Liners Jeep Wrangler Tire Carrier with receiver hitch bumper has been tested and rated Class II (trailer GVWR 3500 lbs. maximum and trailer tongue weight 350 lbs. maximum). Your actual vehicle tow capacity may be less. SEE YOUR VEHICLE OWNERS MANUAL FOR SPECIFIC TOWING INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR VEHICLE. NEVER EXCEED THE MANUFACTURES TOW LIMITS FOR YOUR JEEP WRANGLER. Instruction : Remove 3 rd brake light wiring cover and unplug both 3 rd brake light wires (see photos 1 & 2 below). Remove tailgate wiring grommet and carefully unthread wires through tailgate (one at a time). Remove 3 rd brake light assembly from spare tire mount. Remove the factory bumper using an 18mm end wrench or socket. There are 2 stud bolts on each end of the bumper and 2 hex bolts underneath along the bottom of the bumper holding it in place (see photo #4). Install the striker plate/pin assembly to the “new” bumper with three (3) _” x 1_” hex bolts and flat washers. The bolts will pass through the striker plate and bumper, threading into the nut plate, which must be slid into position inside of bumper. Note that the striker pin should be positioned so that it will be above the bumper when bumper is installed (see photo 6). Do not tighten striker plate yet as you will need to adjust its position later. Step by step instruction with pictures. TIRE MOUNT ASSEMBLY SHOWN MOUNTED WITH ANGLE UP. MOUNTING PLATE IS ON OUTSIDE OF SWING ARM UPRIGHTS (WASHER PLATES ON INSIDE).
