Reduction of emissions in internal combustion engine by air-assist fuel atomization (Tested in Peugeot Engine). Figure 1: Schematic diagram of atomizer with colliding streams. w= 0.1 bar and air supply pressures Pa varying from 0.5 to 3 bar. Droplet sizes were measured downstream of the atomizer’s exit using an Aerometrics PDPA system. An argon-ion laser, providing 2W power green light, was used by the PDPA. In principle, this system allows to measure droplet sizes in the range d p = 0.7 - 220 micron.
